More than 1,800 people (150 in person and over 1,650 via streaming from 19 countries) attended the annual event presenting the work of the iDanae Chair, held at the headquarters of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences (RAC)


The event was chaired by Ms. Ana María Crespo, President of the RAC, accompanied by Mr. Óscar García, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM); Ms. Ernestina Menasalvas, Professor at UPM and Director of the iDanae Chair; and Mr. Alfonso Serrano-Suñer, President of Management Solutions. It also featured the participation of RAC Academicians, as well as representatives from the academic and business sectors.

During the event, Ms. Ernestina Menasalvas provided an overview of the work carried out during the sixth year of the iDanae Chair, which was established in 2019 through collaboration between UPM and Management Solutions in the educational, scientific, and technical fields. 

The event included a keynote lecture by Mr. Miguel Ángel Martín-Delgado, Academician of the RAC, on the origin and boundaries of artificial knowledge, and a panel discussion moderated by Mr. José María Fuster, President of the Association of Friends of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Honorary Academician of the RAC, ad honorem professor at UPM, and Advisor to the Chair’s Monitoring Committee. The panel featured Mr. Rui Barrento, Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer for Global Functions at Grupo Santander; Mr. Eduardo Abad, Partner responsible for Innovation and Digitalization at Garrigues; Mr. Manuel Ángel Guzmán, Partner at Management Solutions; and Mr. Miguel Ángel Martín-Delgado. 

The event also included the presentation of the awards organized by the iDanae Chair during the year: Award for the best AI initiative for high school students with a interest in science, granted to Mr. Cade Pan Zheng, with honorable mentions for Mr. Ruy Laredo Campoamor, Mr. Rubén Domínguez de la Fuente, Mr. José Domecq Figueroa, and Ms. María Valenzuela García. Award for the STEM student with the highest score in the university entrance exams, awarded to Ms. Marta Barbero Fuentes, with honorable mentions for Ms. Alicia Zhu Ji, Ms. Carmen Soria García, and Ms. Erika Jiménez García. iDanae Award for the student with the best academic record in the Master’s in Computer Engineering at UPM, granted to Mr. Alain Sánchez Quirós. 

The event was closed by Mr. Óscar García and Ms. Ana María Crespo.
